How does the Barcode or QR-code element work?

With the Incontrol app, it's possible to scan a Barcode or QR-code. The value contained in the Barcode or QR-code can then be displayed as text in a document. Incontrol can also convert this value back into a new Barcode or QR-code in a document, so you can scan it again from the document.

Important: It's only possible to scan a barcode from an iOS or Android app. If you use the Barcode element in the web environment, you can only manually enter information into the input field. The functionality is otherwise the same as when scanning a barcode.

Explanation

The Barcode or QR-code element is located under Input elements in the Form Builder.

Label

Optionally, you can give a title to the element under Label. This title can be filled using aliases and/or calculations if desired.

Here you provide a text that can be edited. This can also be filled in using aliases and/or calculations.

Type

Indicate here what type should be displayed when it's shown in the document. If you choose 'Text', the value from the scanned Barcode or QR-code will be displayed as text. For the other options, the respective Barcode or QR-code will be displayed.

Default value

By specifying a default value, the field is already filled in when starting a new draft. Of course, the user can change this value.
