How Does the Hyperlink Element Work?

The hyperlink element allows the user to specify a URL of a website in the form. This URL can then be accessed from the PDF of the document.

Explanation

The hyperlink element is located under the input elements in the Form Builder.

Label

You can assign a title to the element if desired. This title can be filled using aliases and/or calculations.

Text

Here you can enter text that is editable. This can also be filled using aliases and/or calculations.

Mandatory

If you check this option, the user must fill out the element to complete the draft.

Display Name

The display name is the name that will be shown in the document. It can be clicked to open the underlying website. By default, this is set to "None," so only the website URL is shown.

  • If you choose "User input," the user can edit and change the name. Use a "Placeholder" to guide the user on what to fill in. You can also provide a default value, which is pre-filled but can be changed by the user.
  • If you choose "Read-only name," the user can see the name but cannot edit it. Under "Text," you can specify the name, using aliases and/or calculations if needed.

URL

This is where the actual URL of the website will be entered. Provide a "Background text (placeholder)" and/or a "Default value." The user can always change the URL.

Settings

Here you can specify aliases and set the appearance and visibility of the element.
