Collapse Dynamic content

The user collapse (folds) it easily so it can keep the overview when filling out the form

Multiple parts to be inspected with the same set of questions? For this, use the Dynamic element. When filling out the form, the user can plus new parts when it is necessary, while the previously completed part can be collapsed. The item(s) is (are) then no longer visible in its entirety except for a labeled bar. This provides an overview, saves space and makes it even clearer to complete the form. The content of the section is still shown in the final document.

Configuring the form and Dynamic element

For the user to be able to collapse the components of the Dynamic element and find them easily in the form, the 'Content name' setting is necessary. The 'Content name' is the label by which the content of the Dynamic component, even collapsed, remains visible to the user.

Dynamic element settings including the 'Content name'

The 'Content name' can include static text, and/or reference to an alias, scoped alias and auto numbering (auto increment). This creates a clear label that allows the user to easily locate the correct content of the required component.

Dynamic content collapsing in practice

Fill in dynamic content and also get visual feedback if a question was missed in the collapsed element.

In the example shown above, a "Dynamic element" is completed and then collapsed. When the draft is completed, there is a clear visual error message that an element still has a missing answer.

Collapse & unfold

The user decides whether, and which part is collapsed (and unfolded again). By default, Dynamic element components remain unfolded (fully visible). Collapsed parts have no effect on visibility in the final finished document (PDF).

Determine which part should not or should be visible by clicking on the arrow (>) in the bar

In the bar of the component, the label is visible on the left. It is filled with the set 'Content name'. Via the arrow (> or ⌄), the content of the component can be closed or opened.

The functionality on the right side of the bar (move up or down, or delete the entire component) continues to work when the component content is collapsed.

Mandatory content

When the draft is completed and there is (are) a required field(s), a clear visual error message will show the user which item still has a missing answer. The bar will then turn red in its entirety.

Dynamic element component has a mandatory question which has not yet been answered, the bar will then turn red.
