Typically, Android devices receive a major operating system update once a year. Throughout the year, various updates are then done to the respective operating system.
Updating the operating system also affects the applications we develop. After a few months, most of our users are on the most recent operating systems. This means that our applications will have to comply with the most recent changes. As a result, we can no longer always support outdated operating systems.
In practice, this means that we will not update the app to a newer version if you do not have your device on a newer operating system. You can then often still use the app, but this is at your own risk. In addition, we may decide to stop supporting the app. This means that you can no longer use the app on an outdated operating system either.
Operating system update
Google has written its own article on how best to update the operating system. You can read all about it in this article. In the article, you can read how to check the current version and how to update the system.
Check app version
You can check which version you are currently using of the application via the steps below:
- Open Incontrol on your device
- If you are not logged in yet, do so first
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner
- Open Settings
- Here you can find the version number, which consists of 6 digits separated by a dot.
Minimum version requirements 3
For this version, you need at least Android 5.0 for your smartphone or tablet.
Note*: You are responsible for keeping the operating system on your device up to date. If the operating system is not updated to the minimum requirements, we are not liable for any problems in the application.
Note**: If you are using an outdated device, it is possible that Android will no longer perform updates on the operating system. This means that your device can no longer use the latest versions and is no longer suitable for using Incontrol. In this case, it is best to look for another device to use Incontrol.
